My boyfriend and I are planning a trip around Asia then making our way to Europe, the US and Canada. We're hoping to stay overseas for around a year, more if we can afford it. Definitely going to be living it cheap!
Problem is, each of us will only have around $20 000-$23 000 by the time we leave (early September).
I was wondering whether you guys reckon this will be possible? We're hoping to maybe pick up some casual work wherever we can find it to maybe offset our living expenses as well.
If anyone has an opinion, it'd be appreciated!
Are you serious?
Most people go off traveling with around $5K-$10K, if you have $23K, you guys have nothing to worry about... unless you are staying in hotels that cost $400 a night and eat at the most expensive places.
I agree with webguy, I think you'll be fine...
We are in Europe now, and we have a Europass.
We average $100 per day per person with hostel, fast/grocery food, local transportation and overnight train reservation fee.
Only $23,000. - Is this a joke? I think you want TP for the Jet Set
It's interesting to see people presume they know which currency is being talked about with just the $ sign. This symbol is used in quite a number of currencies, so it helps to specify which currency you're talking about.
Take a look on this page to see a number of currencies that use $. On a global forum it helps to be specific with these things!
I left the States with 11k last year and spent 7 months in Asia with 2k left when I got back. You could travel for over a year with those kind of funds. Have fun, safe travels.
