Hi Guys

I am going to Thailand on 25th september and would like to go to Malaysia and Singapore when i am there.

Can anyone answer my questions?

Do i need a visa for either country?
What is the best transport to get from Phuket island to Malaysia/Singapore?
How long will it take to get there?
How long shall i spend in Malaysia and Singapore?
Any ideas of what to do when i am there?
Finally, what are the costs of flights from Singapore to Bangkok or shall i get the bus back up?

Thanks guys, would really help me if anyone has any advice.

Hi Joel,

What's your nationality? Provide some basic information about yourself in your profile so others can help you out on questions like visas. Nationals from most western countries do not require visas for social visits to both countries. Check out the Malaysia and Singapore travel guides (see the Red Tape section) for more information on visas.

From Phuket, AirAsia flies to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, while FireFly has connections to Penang and Kuala Lumpur (via Subang, the old KL airport, which is nearer to the city). To get back to Bangkok, it'll be a lot faster and more convenient to fly.

As for how long you should spend there, it depends on what your interests are. You can stay for a week, or even for months. What do you want to do? Refer to this thread and also check out the travel guides to get some ideas on what's available.

Joel - I think Hien has summarize it nicely. Here is some more additional info

Visa check for spore =>

Flights are cheap. Key budget airlines are air asia(operates mostly out of KL) / tiger air (operates mostly out of Spore). I had a friend who just flown from BKK to SG for $60SGD return on air asia.

For SG, it really depends on what you want to do. I think 3 days is more than enough.
For MY, it is really a big country, so it depends on what you want to do.
