Do you think you could get away with 3-4000 pounds? From September I'm going for 3 months to Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. Just in terms of the cost of living that would be enough do you think?? I know it depends where i go and what i do, but the bare bones of a trip out there how much do you reckon is wise (at least) to take with you??
Cheers!

Hi there, Im doing South America right now, all the places you listed but for 4 months, i took just over 3000, im halfway through the trip and half way through the money, but I have Bolivia (the cheapest) and Brazil (most expensive) so will see how that goes! But if you can make 4000 for 3 months your laughing in my opinion, ive done loads of trips and excursions, loads of long bus rides etc and i should be fine if i mantain budget. My travel buddy is doing it with just over 2.5 grand, might be touch and go towards the end but again should be ok, id estimate averagely you dont tend to spend more than 150-200 week with all the toursity stuff along the way. Hope this helps bud

Most money was spent on accommodation (£348 est), coaches and taxis (£110 est), food (£160 est - mainly restaraunts) and drink (Club colombia lager ranged from £0.50p to £2.39p depending on supermarket or bar).
