Me! I'm travelling alone and planning on heading to Koh Phangan on the 8th from Koh Tao to find somewhere to stay for a few days and go to the Full Moon Party. Do you know where you're staying? I'm not sure where is best!

Hello

I am doing exactly the same. I am arriving in Koh Tao on the 6th, as the 7th is my birthday. Im then going over to Koh Phangan on the 8th to find somewhere to stay. I am not certain where i am staying yet, but apparently it is best to keep out the main part (Haad Rin Beach Area). All the places to stay do taxis etc to the area.

What are the plans for the rest of your trip? :)

u guys should check out "happy bungalos(sp)" It's on Sirthanu beach i believe. Great place. Pretty cheap and far enough away from Haad Rin beaches to avoid the crazy parties. It's about a 200baht taxi(pickup) truck right from your place to the party. Tho the costs usually go up trying to get back, barter like mad! Hope this helps!

I personally much prefer staying in Haad Rin to anywhere else. Especially if you're going for the Full Moon Party. Haad Rin is where the party is, so that's the best place to be.

But if you're arriving so close to Full Moon your options in Haad Rin will be limited. I've arrived two nights before Full Moon before though, and found somewhere - it just meant I had to try a few places. But if you want to stay somewhere else on the island then everywhere does taxis, either truck taxis or boat taxis, depending on which beach you're staying at. And if you want to stay somewhere else then Leela Beach is a good option. It's just over the headland from Haad Rin so you can walk to Haad Rin from there.

Also, the few days building up to Full Moon are class as well, so if you could possibly get there a couple of days earlier then I would totally recommend it. Getting there a couple of days earlier also gives you more options for where to stay as well.
