I'll be flying to Tokyo this June, and only got 6 days to spend in Japan. I've reserved a place in a friend's apartment in Tokyo () and thinking bout just spending the whole 6 days in and around Tokyo (meaning only short trips from Tokyo will be considered).
Questions: will there be enough things to do and see in and around Tokyo in 6 days or I really should just go to Kyoto for 2-3 days (for example) and spend only 3-4 days in Tokyo?
Thank you for any inputs :)

I looooooooooovvvveeee Tokyo!!!!
Best city in the Asian region.

I could spend forever there. Never been to Kyoto, so sorry, no help there.

There is plenty to see, and do in Tokyo. The food is spectacular. I always stay in the Shinjuko region as it is fairly central, but the subway system is very, very good.

If you get bored, it is quite easy to catch a train to somewhere...

i echo the previous poster.
I love Tokyo...I think 6 days with 1-2 days short trips out is enough.

Kyoto is amazing too with many many temples and you can take day trips to Himeji Castle or Nara to see the giant bronze buddha. But Tokyo is awesome too, lots to do.

6 days in Tokyo will feel pretty good. It's a great city with plenty to see. There are day trips you can do to see other parts of the country - maybe Nikko?

That said, Kyoto for me was the highlight of Japan, so if you do decide to spend a few days there, I doubt you'll regret it. It will just rush your trip a bit more and I guess drive up costs since you'll have to pay for accommodation while you're there. So I'd say save it for another trip to Japan :)

Good choice. I also urge you to see Nikko. It's amazing. I actually thought it was more impressive than Kyoto and it's only about 2 hours from Tokyo. Another place you may want see is Kamukura, it's a little over an hour from Tokyo, and it's an interesting beach town that has lots of temples nearby.

I was in Tokyo for a week before leaving into north Japan and i had to go back after about 10 days because i missed it so much.

I would say 6 days is too little.
