magykal1 has indicated that this thread is about Croatia

Getting closer to my Croatia trip, really looking forward to it.

One question. I'm going to take some currency with me - am I best off taking Euros or Kuna??

In my opinion it will be better if you get Kuna with you. If you pay in Euros you don't know how the natives will change it in Kuna :) It will be better to get some Kuna from a bank in your contry and just use them ;) You can take of course some Euros with you.

Kuna will be fine for everything - Euros for many things, but not all.
If you're thinking of taking a trip down the road from Dubrovnik into Montenegro (amongst the most beautiful of countries anywhere in the world), then strange as it may seem, it isn't in the EU - but it's currency is the Euro. The Kuna is worthless there.

Seems like Croatia is the place to go this year. Can't wait for our trip in September and am looking forward to hearing about your holiday experience. I personally always get the country's currency of an ATM once I'm there, but also carry around some Euro in cash just in case. This way you can make sure, you always have some money at hand.
Have a great trip!

I use the ATMs also. I bring a about 100 Euro worth of Kuna to get me through my first few days.
Just be careful that the islands you may visit have ATM facilities (lots of them don't) and have some cash with you.
Enjoy your trip.
