This thread hasn't been active in over 30 days? Hell, it hasn't been active since January! So, let's bring it back to life...
Here are the TPF "Our Two Cents Worth" entries since we last were together:
February 7, 2010: Brother Bought A Coconut...
March 6, 2010: IT'S A CELEBRATION!!!!
April 24, 2010: I Wish I Could Give...
July 26, 2010: Reflections In A Mirror
July 27, 2010: Sun, Sun, Sun, Here It Comes...
Yeah, had a bit of "catchin' up" to do on those last two. But, hope you all enjoy!
ps: Sorry to the subscribers for the July 27th entry. I think I accidentally un-clicked the "notify subscribers" when previewing and forgot to click it back on before hitting publish.
This thread hasn't been active for over 30 days. Are you sure you want to respond? YES!!!!!
I will keep this short and just connect everyone to the important stuff:
IT'S A BRAND NEW DAY!! at OUR TWO CENTS WORTH...
If you want to know what we earned and spent over 2010 - check it out!!! We did good!!!
If you do not visit the General Talk forum often (or at all), you may have missed out on the latest Travel Unravelled blog project. Approximately twice a month a specific question is posed to TP's members. Everyone is invited to participate! Just to be fair, I should add that there are certain rules, such as a response word count and time limit. But, you can find the complete details by following these links:
General Talk Forum thread: Travel Unravelled Q&A Sessions Unleashed
Travel Unravelled blog: Travel Unravelled Q&A Sessions Unleashed
Please check these out and join the discussion. The Travellerspoint Foundation receives $5.00 for every blog entry so you will be helping to support our loans at Kiva.org.
Though I feel we've done a goodly amount to make the world a better place, there is still much more we can offer to those who are in need.
The TP Foundation's Travel Unravelled Q&A Series guidelines have been updated. If you don't know about this little project, please take time to check it out. It's pretty cool. Everyone has a chance to participate and, so far, we've gotten some interesting replies.
So, stop by at:

GT Thread: Travel Unravelled Q&A Sessions Unleashed
Congratulations to everyone involved with the project!!!!!!
The TP Foundation saw it's second anniversary on Friday (April 1, 2011) and made it's 76th loan at Kiva.org. To date, we've shared $4440.00 without a default. We have also loaned money to low and high risk Entrepreneurs alike. Initially, I felt we should focus on low risk loans and work our way up to the higher risk investments. I'm very pleased that route was not followed. Regardless of the risk factor, our Entrepreneurs have worked exceptionally hard to fulfill their end of the 'bargain'. Because of this, the risk factor is a non-issue. It's doing the right thing for the right reasons that really counts.
Once again, I am grateful to everyone who has chosen to participate and for their continued support. Thank you all!
I know this thread is over a month old, but it needs a kick up the butt anyway.
I just saw on the Kiva.org page that we passed the 10.000 USD mark !!! (10.200 at the moment.), with a total of 261 loans made by the TP teammembers. I think this deserves to be mentioned here.
$10,000 - Wow guys, this is an awesome milestone! Thanks for drawing our attention to it Herr Bert Going to go make another loan to celebrate
And, thank you to the TP Team on Kiva. As of right this minute:
We just made 4 - $50 loans, bringing to total up to 90 total for TPF.
Again, thanks to everyone for being a part of the team in one way or another!!
Just a quick update:
On December 15th, TP Foundation sent $120.00 to Doctors without Borders (Medecins sans Frontieres) for their program to prevent malaria around the world. This money will pay for malarial vaccines for children in several countries.
TPF has also contributed $50.00 to Room to Read through the Passports with Purpose fundraiser. This donation will help build two children's libraries in Zambia, including the books. Though the Passports with Purpose fundraiser is now closed, donations can still be made to Room to Read. Passports' goal was to raise $80,000 for the 2 libraries and they received $89,159.00 this year!!
That's all great news - well done everyone!
