Wow, that is truly impressive. And all those loans just keep on giving and giving too... too cool!

Quoting Isadora

We have received several repayments from our Kiva loans. We now sit with $845.16 in the account. As a "Welcome to 2012!!" gesture, I will be making 8 - $100 loans on New Year's Eve (US time as Kiva is based in California).

As promised, those 8 - $100 loans were made on December 31st to ring in the New Year. This does leave us with ~$45 in the Kiva account but that will add up quickly with repayments, etc. I guess I could have divided it up a bit differently so we'd have had a nice even 100 loans to present to you. Regardless, we've 98 so far and I'm not complaining! We've reached this total in less than 2 years - our first loans were made August 5, 2009.

Kudos again, and may we have a successful 2012 spreading good will around the world!

Happy New Year everyone! ;)

Isa

ps: I LOVE this stuff!

Wow! All I can say is wow!

I've just finished the TPF Combined Monthly Contributions spreadsheet for the accountants. We have done good!! We didn't earn as much as we had in 2009 and 2010. But, the Kiva reinvestments have paid out in spades. Because of that, we've also been able to donate to three other causes that are well worth the money. (I'm hoping no one disagrees...)

I will be posting a blog with the year end results. I thought you might like a preview of what's to come...

  • We have only earned ~$340.00 via AdSense and ~$53 of that is still in the AdSense account.
  • Amazon has only gained us $7.76 for the whole year (they pay out at $10.00).
  • Travel Unravelled brought in $50 and has $15 waiting for more friends to contribute.
  • We had no other 'outside' contributions but that's okay.
  • We loaned $100 to Kiva. (Doesn't sound like much, but wait for it...)
  • We donated $225.00 to Medecins sans Frontieres for the hunger campaign in Somalia and malaria prevention around the world.
  • We donated $50.00 to Room to Read (via Passports with Purpose) to help build libraries in Zambia.
  • We reinvested ~$3500 back into Kiva plus the $100 mentioned above. That's $3600+ in loans this past year.

We had an ending 2011 balance of $45.47 and we now have $224.38 in the TPF Kiva account as of the last update. We still have $2134.08 outstanding - but what the hell - WE'RE DOING EXCELLENT WORK AROUND THE WORLD and made 98 loans!!! Have enough to break that 100 loan mark...

Once again, thank you all!!!!!!!
