Okay, thanks to some gentle prompting from Lavafalls, I decided to take a compile a list of the last three months' most popular articles in the wiki travel guide.

I ran a comparison between these three months and the three months before that to see which articles had grown a lot in terms of visitors. The Famous Bridges, New Zealand, Schengen Visa, Greece and South Africa articles all saw quite a bit of growth.

The biggest winner though was the Uluru-Kata Tjutu National Park article. The reason for that one doing so well is because it was submitted to StumbleUpon, which led to quite a bunch of new visitors dropping by. If you've ever got a pretty complete article about an interesting destination like that, I can definitely recommend giving it a ThumbsUp on StumbleUpon. People really seem to take to some of the guide articles.

Happy writing!

Cheers,
Eric

Thanks so much Eric! I don't think every month its needed but you know every few months might be interesting. I am little scared of Stumble upon personally.

The other one that is worthwhile is Wikipedia. If the article is *really* good and can stand up to Wikipedia scrutiny, then it actually can be a good complimentary resource. I've added in a links from the Wikipedia article on Pitcairn Islands for instance. These links can generate a few regular ongoing clicks every day and of course the type of people coming in from Wikipedia are more likely to be interested in other content in our guide as well.

Hey, there's lots of ways to promote articles. We do of course do a fair bit of that ourselves, but there's only so many hours in the day. And we hardly want to become spammers on other sites either :)
