Hey fellas, I'm coming in on the 12th of September from the States for the year working holiday. I'm planning on staying in Coffs Harbour for about two weeks visiting some family then possibly moving up to the Gold Coast for some work for a few months. I'm also planning on doing some harvest work but not until the weather cools down a bit.

Coffs is about a 5 hour drive south of Brisbane. Not much going on there sad to say, beaches are nice but not much else. Do you already have a job lined up in mildura?

Sounds like a place beach bums hippies and surfer dudes would like. Nope don't have work lined up in mildura as such my best m8 is at present in mildura fruit picking so he's gonna try get me a job on the farm he works on if not I will just head for a working hostel I'm the town or one surounding it and they will find you work. If I can get on my m8s farm though I will be on around £10 a hour if not I think he got £8 working picking vegtables when he firsted arrived. When you said start fruitpicking when it cools down up goldcoast it's hot all year round think cause it tropical weather they have wet dry but always hot southern has the seasons just reversed so victoria on 1sept went into spring you would be better October, November and December heading for victoria or south A as there loads of available fruitpicking jobs plus your close to 3 major citys my m8 says they often drive into Melbourne on the weekend book a hostel party then Sunday drive back to farm

Hi, I'm flying into melbourne on the 30th september, was planning on meeting a friend but think i'm going to be traveling solo now. I plan to spend 5 weeks traveling up the east coast and then am flying from darwin to perth on the 5th november. Would love to meet up with fellow solo travelers. Does anyone know info about any good bus networks to use? coz apart from finding a group of travelers who have space in a camper van for little old me think i will be using good old trusty public transport.
