I will be taking my first trip out of the US this year and am a little nervous.

I am flying into Milan (MXP airport) and have train tickets to Lake Como. Anyone have advice on getting from the airport to the train station?

Hi Caril
move from malpensa to como lake is quite simple.
In malpensa airport there's a station of MalpensaExpres, here you can buy your ticket to Como.
Once you get on the train you have to get off in Saronno and take a train to Como.
I think that in more or less 1hour you will be in Como near lake.
You could check timetable here:
Once you will in station Como Lake you could take boat to move on the lake.

This is the simple way. Otherwise you have to move in Milano with MalpensaExpress, take a tube, take a train and go to Como (it will take a lot of time).
I hope you haven't also buy a ticket on as this a different company an railways from one i suggested you.

Actually, Lenord and Trenitalia are equally efficient on this route. Also, the itineraries are the same (both require a change of trains in Saronno).

You could just see which of the two best matches your actual time of arrival. As the ticket machines of both companies are rather easy to operate, it should be possible to make a last-minute decision. Note that tickets are not interchangeable between both companies, even though the price is (almost exactly) identical (about €10,-).
