Basically im going to be in Philadelphia on July 11th and I was wondering if anyone knewwhether or not UFC 100 will be shown in any bars? are there any bars or particular sports bars in philly that are likely to show the event?

I travel to vegas on the 12th so im going to just miss out on the chance to watch somewhere in vegas however I just hope i can still watch it while im staying in philly.

Any ideas on this?

cheers

Just got back from Las Vegas yesterday (last night) and UFC is being advertised all over town. Don't know the situation in Philly, but I'm "bumping" this in hopes that someone has an answer for you.

Enjoy

cheers :) how long were you in vegas for?

I cant wait for UFC100 the card is massive and watching it over in america should be a class experience. Like i said im a bit gutted that i wont be in vegas for it as watching it in a bar on the vegas strip would have been unreal!!! Just hope somewhere still shows it though as i know that the UFC events are pay per view in america.

Luckily I arrive in Philly on July 9th so it will allow me a couple of days to try n find out some info if i cant get an answer before then.

Well, I was only in Las Vegas for two days since I had to come back early for work reasons.

My 21 year-old son who was with my wife and I in Las Vegas last week will be in Las Vegas (again) during the period July 6th through 9th (this time with his girlfriend, and they'll be there without us since we'll both be working then). He's not a fight fan, though.

When you get to Las Vegas on the 12th, check out a "sports book" at one of the larger hotels. I think Caesars Palace has the best one, but the one at the Mirage next door is also great. You'd be amazed at the ability to watch baseball games, soccer games, horse races, cricket matches, (and basketball, hockey, and American football game if they were "in season") all at the same time from a single seat (and bet on all of them at the same time and get your drink and great food delivered directly to your viewing spot). If you want to walk about 10 feet away, you can also gamble on slot machines, craps, or roulette or blackjack at the same time--or take a short 100 yard stroll to either the pool or to a collection of shops equivalent to what you would see on the Champs de Elysee. And if you want some entertainment, you can go see Elton John or a circus show or feed live tigers or see a dance show by taking a five minute walk from there. There are also two places in Caesars where they have live music at night very close by. And restaurants featuring great French, Italian, Japanese, or steak or seafood places a short walk away within the same hotel. Amazing.

As a point of interest, Las Vegas has 18 of the 23 largest hotels in the world--and all of them are located within 2 miles of each other. 21 of the 23 largest hotels in the world are in the US--but the largest hotel in the world is in Malaysia (First World Hotel) and the third largest hotel is in Thailand (Ambassador City Jombtlen). The largest hotel in Las Vegas is the MGM Grand. Note: When the Asia Asia hotel is completed in Dubai in 2010, it will become the largest hotel in the world.

I hope you can find a good place in Philly (Philadelphia) to watch your UFC match--and don't forget to try out a Philly steak sandwich from either Pat's or Gino's (or even both) while in town.

Enjoy

I am just ordering the fight at home...Pay Per View is the best...and cheapest way to go. By the time I go to a bar, eat, and drink for 4 hours...I am $100 in the whole. In my home town, we watch the fights at Buffalo Wild Wings...they always air them. I would check them out and see if these are in Philly as well.

Also...sorry for the multiple posts...no matter where you watch the fight (if it isn't in your hotel room) you will have to get there at LEAST 2 hours in advance. These fights, especially a card like this, are very popular and you will be stuck standing in a crowded bar if you don't get there early enough.

Thanks for the replies. Calcruzer its safe to say i will have plenty to do in Vegas :) I'll make sure to definately check out the sports book to see whats on while staying in vegas. I think the whole experience is going to be surreal as I've always wanted to go to vegas. Im counting down the days now as we leave for USA on tuesday June 30th so not long now!!!!
Also While in Philly I'll make sure I try a Philly steak sandwich preferably from either Pat's or Gino's as you suggested

Slakin, Where bouts you from? I tried searching for 'Buffalo Wild Wings' but unfortunately there wasnt 1 based in Philadelphia. I tried searching the internet and found quite a few sports bars in Philly but could not find any further info about screening the UFC. Not sure how big the UFC is in Philly but im guessing some bar somewhere has gotta be screening it *fingers crossed* Also UFC 101 will be situated in Philadelphia so there must be somewhere

Luckily I arrive in Philly on July 9th so it gives me a day or so to try and find out. I cant wait now, think the whole experience will be completely different in comparison to watching the fights at home (England) in the early hours of the morning!!! I'll be sure to arrive a couple of hours early as well, cos like you say it will be packed.

ayyyyeee yoooo, philly! my hometown!

it really depends on what else is happening that night. if there is a baseball game that'll definitely get priority but I've seen ufc at bars before...

that being said go to center city right around 12th and market- if you are not in that area take the train to Market East or take the EL to 11th street. boht will put you right at 12th and market.

there are few sports bars right there. champs or champions I think. I want to say thirteen is the name of another one . and fielder's choice is another. just google them when you're in the area. they are all within a minute apart of each other so if one isn't showing it try the other.

shame you're gonna just miss out on the 4th of july.

Cool Paul im glad you mentioned about baseball as I;ve just googled it and on July 11th its Philadelphia Phillies VS Pittsburgh Pirates. So im guessing that will certainly have priority, I just hope that somewhere will still show the UFC despite this.

I'm goin to try and google the places you have suggested..... As you say if one place isn't showing it then maybe one of the others maybe. In terms of the area though im not sure where we will be staying whilst in Philly. Do you have any suggestions on this & for good places to stay/visit etc?

As for July 4th we will be in New York for the celebrations so I need to look in to that as I dont want to miss out! I know its a massive holiday in America so im pretty excited for the experience :)

Thanks

Hi sheps, if you go to ufcbars it will show you all of the bars in pennsylvania that show the ufc. It looks you've got a couple of options for philly. Unless you like strip clubs, your best bet would be Glam Restaurant & Lounge in Old City down on 2nd Street between Market and Chestnut. The Broad Street line of the subway will take you right to 2nd and Market. This is a pretty cool area to go out in with tons of bars and restaurants with a good vibe. Anywhere on 2nd and 3rd between Chestnut and Race Street will have lots of nightlife in the area. Just ask around, anyone can point you in the direction of something good. I wouldn't recommend driving as parking is always a bitch in this neck of the woods. Otherwise, Delilah's and Club Risque are showing down on Delaware Ave (both topless bars). I'm from Philly too and used to live in Old City for several years, so feel free to ask any questions about the area. Good luck and enjoy!
