Vietnam Itenary/Trip routing?

Hi,
Anyone can please give an advice what would be a good itenary or trip routing in Vietnam for 2 weeks? Following are places that i would like to visit :
- Hanoi
- Ha long Bay
- Da Nang
- Tunnel or Killing Field??
- HCMC
- Other place if i have enought time in two weeks???

I will get into Vietnam from Indonesia - KL - Hanoi and on the Way back will be Vietnam-Bangkok-Indonesia.

I suggest you use 3 of your days in HaNoi. 2 days HaLong Bay, overnight bus to DaNang, 2 days there, DMZ tour, bus over to Hoi An, 2 days, overnight bus to Nha Trang, 2 days beach time, overnight bus to HCMC. You will have 3 days for tunnels, delta, city tour. The 'Killing Fields' are outside of Phnom Penh. You will not have enough time this trip for that and VN. Good luck with your planning.

Thanks a lot for the great advice! How about the hostel or hotel in Da Nang, Hoi An and Nha Trang? Do I need to book in front or I can just jump off from the bus and looking for it? Cost would be 200 - 300USD per night.

I really think you'd find Danang rather dull - very few travelers go there since Hoi An is just down the road

If you're going soon, you won't have to prebook at all

In Hoi An the Nhi Trung Hotel is great at $15. w/balcony and breakfast

You should try to get up to Sapa in the NW Highlands - one of the beauty spots in VN

Read my blog. I talk about hotels in HCMC, DaLat, Nha Trang, all were $10/nite or less. If you take the open tour, your bus company will stop at an affiliate hotel. Sinh Cafe has the best buses, but stop at $20+/nite hotels. You can always ride with Sinh Cafe and stay elsewhere. Or use Hahn Cafe open tour. They stop at hotels in the $10 range. If your budget is less than $10/nite, use Hahn Cafe open tour. If you can spend $20+, use the Sinh Cafe open tour buses.

I stayed at Le Tan Hotel in Hoi An. Nothing special, $8/nite. In DaNang, Guest House 34 got good reviews, around $12/nite. Hai Yen Hotel is by the beach rather than in town. $22/nite. My blog covers the other cities.

You do not need to book anything until you arrive and look at the room. There are always vacancies. Send me a PM if you have questions.
