Day tour in Paris

Hi I will be heading to Paris for my wedding photoshoot and was wondering if there are any services available to help bring 4 of us around to the various scenic spots in Paris for our shoot at affordable prices for just a day. Alternatively, I was also thinking of renting a vehicle to drive around ourselves but Im not sure if it is easy to find parking facilities in Paris. Anyone out there got any suggestions??

You will find many (native) English and French speaking personal Guides in Paris that can take you around the city. Just look for ´walking tours Paris´ in Google and you will find many, many companies and personal guides. I think in this case you might want to go for a personal guide, so just one person who loves to show his/her city to visitors instead of a company. It might be a bit more expensive but they usually offer tours that are completely adapted to your wishes. They can take you to the most scenic spots in and around Paris, of which there are a lot!

Parking in Paris indeed seems to be quite a problem. I have never tried it but did some research and it seems to be that it is quite hard to find a parking spot, especially in the centre. You will have to pay for parking between 9am and 7pm on weekdays, costs range between 1 to 3 euro an hour (depending on how central you are) and you streetparking has a 2 hour limit. Also, payment can only be done with a special card that you have to buy in Tabacco shops. So, to be honoust I would not go for this option.

Forget a car. Honestly, you'll spend so much of your precious time looking for parking - and paying through the nose for a space (per hour - in some cases per 20 minutes!!).
Get a daily Metro ticket. The Paris Metro is on of the finest subways in the world, right up there with London (much more expensive), Moscow and New York.
One of the finest experiences I've had when getting off an underground train, is at 'Trocadero' station in Paris on the Metro. I'll leave the view you'll see as a surprise. It's just magical.

By far the best and most scenic way to get around Paris and see all of the tourist spots is by getting the Batobus. Basically is a bus that is a boat on the river Seine. It's cheap and you can get off wherever you want and it takes you to all the major atractions. I can't recommend it high enough. It is great floating down the river looking at all the amazing buidings and attractions from the river and jumping on and off wherever takes your fancy, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, wherever. Google it as there is a website all about it. Believe me, it really is the best way to do Paris in a day. Your photos will be amazing taken from the river or on the riverside.
