Good Stuff Mike. Either way, we can find a way to lock stuff up and get it all secured. I have no doubts in that! And camping is so much more of an experience!

As for the Ribbon idea, we are on the same page mate. I was actually going to send an admin a pm and ask if I could get a copy of their logo in vector format so I could create a small sign post to stick at our camp sites to notify people this is the TP group. Plus, when I make the reservations, I am going to notify them that if anyone makes reservations as part of the "TravellersPoint" group, to try and group us together.

I still need to update the original post with the new camping information, just need to get it all prepped and ready.

As a thought, who would need to rent camping gear for this? I think it's only a few bucks extra but their is a deposit I believe, which will get returned once we finish for the time we spend there. Plus, most of them have BBQ's so we can bring a few coolers, grab some steaks, burgers, chicken and anything else to cook up while we're there. I can cook some mean BBQ and Burgers are my specialty!!

Stay tuned for updated campsite info.

Glad everyone is stoked about this, going to be a hell of time!!

Cant wait!!

I work with Prinitng companys maybe i could get some tshirts made up saying TP GROUP

What ya think? lol

I will need to rent camping equipment though otherwise im stuffed!

BBQ Sounds good to me, you mentioned the food but what about a few beers?

Danielle

You know, I was also thinking shirts would be cool to do as well! Great minds think alike!!

As for the beer, that's pretty much a given! ;)

I'm drafting the new updated camping info, will post after a few meetings, but i may wait till I can get rental prices from. I'm thinking Lane Cove is our best bet for camping, centrally located and near some water.

Meeting time, I'm outtie

For more information about campsites, dates, and gear, check the Original post. I'm trying to keep all that info centralized there for organization.

I've inquired to Lane Cove River Tourists Park about the group rates and some gear for 8-16 people and trying to set it up so that we can identify ourselves as the TP group and they will place us all in proximity. I'm willing to put down a deposit for the first 8-Person camp site, if we go beyond that, we'll try to work something else out.

I changed the dates to Dec 27 - Jan 2 for a week long stay. I know Mike is planning on arriving on Dec 22nd, so you may want to email them and setup your reservation for the extra 5 days. You can probably set yourself up with the initial 4 nights, 5 days and then head over to our spot for the group rates. Let me make the first reservation so we have an area set aside, then you can book and request to be next to the TP group. We'll work something out.

If any locals know of some cool spots to check out while we are in, let us know! I know that Lane Cove River Tourists Park has a lot around it's area and is accessible to the rest of Sydney.

Stay tuned and if other members want to jump in on the party, reply and let us know!

Received this from Lane Cove:

Hi Tim,

Thanks for contacting us. A quote would depend on how many people you will bring.

For example, at 8-10 persons, you could book two adjacent unpowered sites. The total cost would be AU$68/night for four adults plus $10/night for each additional adult, i.e. $108/night for 8 adults. I am assuming there are no children in the group. However, children aged 11 & under are free.

For a larger group, say, more than 10 persons, you would be booked into a “group area”. This would be charged at $15/person per night.

By staying a week, your 7th night of camping would be free, on the condition that the week’s fees are paid upfront.

The question of a deposit would also depend upon the number of persons you recruit. If the group remains only 8 persons, we would not require a deposit, only your credit card details as security (Visa and Mastercard accepted). For a larger group, we will require a deposit or payment in advance.
Unfortunately we do not have an equipment rental service. I am sure you could find what you need through a Google search or through www.yellowpages.com.au

Once you have determined the total number of persons, you can book online through our website www.lcrtp.com.au. It won’t allow you to book a site for more than 6 adults, so please use the “additional information” box to inform us of the total number. Any other campers who make their own reservations need only to mention the name under which you book. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reply to this email.

So if I'm reading this right, and please check my math as I am terrible at it!

10-Persons / 2 Campsites = $128 per Night x 6 Nights = $768 / 10-People = $76 per person
16-Persons / Group Camp Area = $15 per person x 6 Nights = $1440 / 16 People = $90 per person

By the looks of it, going the group rate actually cost us more than doing 2 separate 8-10 person camp sites. So since we only have about 6 people right now, lets start off with the 10-Persons with 2 adjacent camp sites. Thoughts on this one or should I work on one of the other sites with rental gear?

Head count so far:

  • WebGuy(Tim)
  • Mike.M89 +1
  • DanielleB
  • Kimii
  • Total Count = 5

And my apologies for spamming the hell outta this thread!
