Hi all. 10 to 15 minutes walk to the train station, 25 minutes to the Harbour Bridge by train.
A bus service runs directly to the city as well and the walking time to the bus stop is about 10 to 15 minutes as well.

Public transport is good for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day so everyone will be able to get to where they want to go very easily.

And if anyone was really keen they could walk to the bridge! It's only 10 kms!

Had a direct question from Paul about public transport that may be of interest to everyone.
Very easy to get to the city from us.
At the moment the trains run back every night until about 11.15 but I think there will be later services closer to Christmas. But the bus service runs nearly all night on Friday and Sat nights.
If you were coming back late during the week the bus service leaves the city about 10 minutes before 1 am. Next bus is about 4am.

The combined cost for a return journey by public transport will be about $8.00 by train off peak and about the same by bus.
Off peak is when you travel after 9am and return before 4am on weekdays. It's also valid any time of day on weekends and public holidays.

If you were in a group of 4 a taxi from the city would cost you about $60 combined. $15.00 each.

Hope that helps.

When you all arrive I can do a group briefing about transport and everything else if that suits everyone.
We have all the info about public transport you will need at the park. Also maps and discount vouchers for some of the sights of Sydney.
But I'm also happy to answer individual questions.

The Bridge climb is very popular but it's also expensive. A lot of people do it though!:)

we were at lane cove awhile back and got a cab from the the opera house, and it cost us, 40 dollars. There will be no bridge climbs due to the firework. not sure how long before new year.

I expect there will be bridge climbs right up to the day or so before New Years Eve. And well done for getting a taxi for only $40.00.
A couple of people have asked about camping equipment. We don't sell equipment on site at the tourist park but you can buy equipment from the shopping centre near us (Macquarie Centre). But it depends what time of day you get here.
The shopping centre is only 2 train stops away.
Security is not a concern. We have staff on site at all times (including overnight) and if you have any valuables you don't wish to leave in your tents you can leave them at the office. Office opening times are 7.30 in the morning to 7.00 at night every day of the year.
The park will be very full when you are all here and as long as everyone follows the rules everyone will have a great time.
Pretty much all we ask is that you consider everyone else in the park while you are here.
A bit of consideration and a bit of courtesy goes a long way:)

See you all soon,
