Hello everyone.

Just after some info regarding Grenoble in France. Looking at visiting the region for a couple of days in early November while travelling between Spain and Italy. Is it a nice place to visit for a couple of days? What sort of sights and accommodation for a couple etc.? Or is there another/better town in the region that someone would recommend to stay instead?

Thanks.

Grenoble is nice enough, a decent mix of modern and traditional architecture backed by the mountains. You'll want to do the cable-car trip, also from what I remember it's a bit of a centre for modern art. It's quite lively, too.

Can I recommend Briancon though? It's a really fine old town set in a dramatic bit of mountain, not that far from Grenoble. It will be extremely quiet in November, though the weather might be awful.
