In case you're interested in city life and culture, I recommend Berlin and Istanbul. Living in Berlin and loving it and Istanbul is a wonderful, vibrant and unique city, you shouldn't miss. Heading to Crotia later on this year, so I will let you know after I return whether it's one of the best places to visit |

Post#2#steff.... You'll adore Croatia. So central for other countries too. If you're in Dubrovnik (just magical), it's a 20 minute car ride to the Bosnia border and an hour or so south is Montenegro. Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful countries on the planet. |

I was in Budapest last month, great city. I can highly recommend a visit. It is the only capital of a country that is also a recognised spa town. |

Make sure you go to Switzerland. You'll love it. We stayed in Lucerne and travelled to Jungfrau (top of europe) and Zurich. I've put up a site covering the places we visited in Feb-Mar 2009 as were in love with Europe. Site address is -snip Moderator comment: please see Forum Rules. Hope the information on the site helps you. [ Edit: Sorry, no promos please, use pm to share this info. Thanks...Link to Forum Rules added. ] |

I couldnt agree more with the posts above. Croatia is my favourite country in Europe. Budapest is my favourite city in Europe. I also suggest to go to Prague and Montenegro. Eastern Europe is cheaper than Wesern Europe by at least 20%. Of course not everything, but it feels like it. Stay away from Bratislava and Sofia. Both are just plain boring, but east of Sofia, like closer to the Black Sea, is great. There are alot of beach resorts in Bulgaria but the water is cold [ Edit: Edited on 21-Jun-2009, at 09:05 by way2goeh ] |

So what is there to do in Budapest? If it's a recognised Spa Town what does this mean? Obviously I know what a Spa is, but... |

Thank you Sprasadoz!!! I'll check out the site, this information is all really helpful. What kind of things can I expect to find to do in Lucerne, Switzerland? |

Thank you, this is all so good. It's so much better to hear from people, and its good that the same places are coming up more than once, I'd much rather come and ask a question on this than read a review, at least I'm getting honest opinions from actual experience. |
