[quote]...Since it is already possible to list TP members by country through the search function, maybe you can extend said search function? Currently the results are listed member name, real name, citizen of, living in. It would be cool if there was a 5th result that said whether the member was willing to host other TP members.

I would choose to stay private for the most part, though I'd be willing to host other members who've been around here for a while. I have a great view of Salisbury cathedral from where I live and about 6 or 7 minutes walk from the centre of town.

For the record, that's Salisbury UK, not the ex-capital of Zimbabwe or the two in America. ;)

This is a nice idea! I'd certainly be willing to host people once I have, err, a house

Also, living in London, found this a big problem:

[quote](One of the problems of Couchsurfing is that CS members who live in Paris, London, Berlin etc get more requests than average, some have stopped replying to requests altogether because the novelty of having strangers in your house has worn off.)

What also annoyed me in CS was that although I would've quite happily hosted both male and female guests, the males, quite often, use CS as some sort of an international dating site , and the emails would be along the lines of, I don't want accommodation, but how about you come and have dinner with me and show me the town? Err, no thanks. So I'd be a lot happier hosting people through a site where I can at least look at their history on the forum or otherwise, and then decide if they're ok!

I'd be willing to let some people sleep on my couch, as soon as I get one, for as long as I have one.

I find it easier to commit to a girlfriend than large pieces of furniture. If you feel the need to take off you don't need to sell them or put them in storage.

Sometimes they even come with you. I have yet to find a couch that likes me that much.

That is something I don't find annoying at all. I much rather meet a strange guy and show him around the town than agree to host him without meeting him first.

PS: I met some of these guys (people who asked to be shown around) and those I have met really wanted to be shown the city, not just date me. (Either that or they realised that I would be gone in an instant if they tried flirting.)
