In just one day? Tour Eiffel, Notre Dame, Sacré-Coeur, Dôme des Invalides. More would be rushing it.

Hi patnpeg,

Just one day, that is not much! So much to see in this beautiful city!

Of course it depends on what kind of things you like to see or do. I agree on Bentivogli about going to the Tour Eiffel (Eiffel tower) and Notre Dame, they are not that far apart from each other and well, you just have to see them right?

Skip the Louvre museum, you need a whole day already to see that so you won´t have time for that, just go to building, admire the entrance with the glass pyramid and how big this palace is. Beautiful to see! imagine that someone lived there...

Sacre Coeur is perfect to go when the sun goes down. Not sure what the opening times are of the church itself so depends on the time of the year if you can combine a visit to it with a sunset from the stairs. When I was there a couple of guys were playing live South-American music and people where dancing and just enjoying the perfect view over the city from here.

My personal Paris favourite is Père-Lachaise but you will have to see if you can actually squeeze that in (you shouldn´t rush if you want to get at least a little feel of the city). It is a graveyard where many famous people are buried (like Jim Morrison, Chopin, Balzac and Oscar Wilde). Except for that it is just a beautiful place to see with so many graves, sculptures, impressive mausoleums and greeneries, never had seen anything like it!

Last tip: you can consider taking a boat tour on the Seine. You will see the highlights of the city while relaxing and usually you can hop on and off where ever you want if you feel like taking some more time to view a building. The view from the Seine onto the city is amazing. Will save you time of traveling and searching on your own.

Hope this helps!

Bentivogli is spot on. If you had a second day I'd go with OHannamari and catch Pere-Lachaise as well as the Catacombs. I haven't actually been to either of these last two (due to closures, etc.), but have heard amazing things about both. Also, if you had I second day and wanted to hit a museum I would personally recommend either the Musee d'Orsay or the Rodin Gardens. I absolutely adore both of these! Best of luck with your plans
