Travel Safety article?

Travel Forums Wiki Travel Guide Travel Safety article?

What do you think about the idea of starting a central Travel Safety article? Kind of like the Travel Health one that we already have. It could be linked to from each of the country articles in the Safety section.

Also, it may be worth having a general template for these Safety sections. For instance, listing the emergency numbers for a country would seem like a good thing to always include. Although I just realise that I've actually put that under Phone in some articles :? It should be under Safety right?

Good idea, especially because of constantly changing safety in certain countries, Iran for example right now but probably dozens more.
Would be glad to work on it as well;)

I like the idea. Links to travel advisory websites by governments across the globe will be useful here. And though we already have a safety section in each country-based article, we can link it to this new main/general safety article just like how it's currently done for the Money section (which links to Money Matters).

Ok, I've started one at Travel Safety.

Added a few headings and filled out some information on Travel Advisory Services and Emergency Phone Numbers.

Good start.
I was just about to add a link to numbers world wide, when I noticed you did mention it but haven't included the link directly in the article (the wiki link to all numbers I mean).
I had another one namely this one. We can add one of them I guess?

I think if we were to link to a full version of all emergency numbers (instead of building one ourselves), the one on wikipedia will be a better source because it's more likely to be updated by someone when there's any change in a country.

Yeah, I vote for Wikipedia too. It's more in the spirit of the guide to link to Wikipedia I think.
