hi,

quick question about thai visas.

i will be travelling through thailand - malaysia - singapore over a period of less than thirty days. i understood that i did not require a visa. however ive been told that because i fly into bangkok (via singapore from the uk) and fly out of singapore i do require a visa.

Can anyone clarify this? and is there away round it by purchasing a flight from phuket to singapore for example?

Thanks

Hi Craig,

I've heard that many people went on the same direction as you're going to, and they did not have to get a visa in advance.

Anyway, give the Thai Embassy in UK a call to confirm.

Thai Embassy
29-30 Queen’s Gate, London SW7 5JB.
Tel: 020 7589 2944
Fax: 0207 823 9695

Consular Section:

Cheers,
Hien

Thanks Hien,

The consulates position seems to be - as long as you have an airfair that takes you directly out of thailand within the 30 days there is no visa required. Ive been looking into airfares, and air asia seem to have some good offers for flights between phuket and singapore. I dont want to miss kl though, so can you suggest a good (cheap) airline for flying between southern thailand and malaysia.

Thanks again.
