Hi all,

My parents are visiting me from India and they really want to see Scotland - Edinburgh and a few other places - specially the beautiful countryside of Scotland. They have about 3-4 days to spare - is that enough ?
Also, what's the easiest way to go around Scotland? They are not keen on hiring a car and driving around. Is it easy to travel between places starting from Edinburgh - using buses and trains? Or would you suggest that they just book with a good tour - that way everything will be taken care of ??

Thansk in advance :)

Cheers,
J

A tour seems the best option if a rent-a-car is out of the equation.
Trains are fine if you wanna look out of the window, but to get anywhere special in just 3-4 days, the road is the way forward.
There are many bus/coach companies that'll have a tour to suit their tastes.
Just fire up Google and type in something along the lines of "Scottish bus tours".

I would suggest u to be based in Edinburgh and do the following:

Day1: Explore the city of Edinburgh
Day 2: Take a bus to Glasgow, explore the city and return back in the evening.
Day 3: Take a day excursion from Edinburgh to Loch lomond and Stirling castle or to the beautiful town of Oban
Day 4 : Take a day excursion to Inverness and the Isles of Skye

Hope this helps

Cheers
Arif
