Hey

Mendoza is a lovely city. We were there last September and stayed for 2 weeks we loved it so much. You can of course do the wine tour there... we did it by ourselves getting the bus to the main village and hiring bikes there.. all very easy. You can do an organized tour too if you are on your own for not much more money.

We also did river rafting. There are lots of adventure activities to do around there so I would recommend doing some of those. the rafting was lots of fun.

We also went over to Cerro Aconcagua, we didn't climb it but walked to a viewpoint at the base.. again very easy to get there by bus from the main bus station. There was a lot of snow there too which made it quite fun.

Mendoza city centre is also lovely for people watching & shopping.. it's huge! The food there is amazing.. there is a fabulous all you can eat buffet which was about 30pesos but the food was so good, not just normal buffet.. all you can eat steak, sausages, desserts, pasta.. I won't go on as it's making me hungry thinking about it now. I really can't remember the name but it's in the guide books and is a big well known restaurant that's always packed so the locals will be able to help too.

I would set aside at least 3 days in Mendoza if you want to do the above, like I said we stayed 2 weeks, it's just a nice city you can't seem to drag yourself away from!

We stayed in Savigliano International Hostel, a really nice friendly hostel just by the bus station and about a 10 minute walk from the city centre, I would recommend this hostel too!

Hope this helps!

Sophie :)
