Hi

Im going to Lagos for a week and was wondering where the best places to go snorkeling are, how much it costs to hire equipment, if its better to go on a tour or alone, if you need any experience etc..

any help would be greatly appreciated

Hey Bronco,

I wanted to see if you ever gathered that information that you were asking about and if you can share your knowledge. I am going to Salema with friends this coming summer (June), and we have our own snorkeling equipment, so will bring it if it's worth it. I was wondering if you can tell me if the water is even warm enough to swim in, and if you saw any fun aquatic life while you were in Lagos. Also, did you go by yourself or with a tour?

Thanks much!

Hey Elliemae

Yeah we spent a week in Lagos last July. we enjoyed it there and the weather was pretty hot but the water was freezing. we still went swimming though but the Atlantic is a lot colder than the Mediterranean. we didnt do a huge amount of snorkelling just briefly when we stopped for lunch on our kayak trip. visibility as pretty good and we saw plenty of fish but nothing too spectacular. still enjoyed ourselves though and the kayak trip was a highlight. I'm sure you can find some decent snorkelling spots around, but it wont be warm.

Sorry I cant be of more help.
