I've been here for 2-3 already and have done well, err not much. Met up with friends and drank. I'm now feeling the urge to get out and do stuff. I'll probably come back here when it's hotter but what should I do know while I still have pennies.
+ where is recommended to get RSA & RCG. I've seen it advertised in a few places and I think I should get both but have spotted that the prices change.
I'll be heading to the Blue Mountains soon on a day trip so if anyone is looking for someone to go with then HELLO.
I also think I'll be going to Melbourne from here and was wondering what is worth taking in on the way or should I just fly over. is Canberra worth checking out at all?
I wish I could drive
Thanks for any help given, have been having a great time so far.
RSA + RCG see Office of Liquor Gaming & Racing for registered places and accredited companies.
Blue Mtns is very nice (and cold) in winter especially the wind chill factor, so rug up! If you are driving, strongly recommend doing the Bells Line of Road from Windsor to Katoomba (more scenic) since there is nothing touristy until Leura anyways. If you like camping/hiking do the 6ft Track (Katoomba to Oberon) will bring you out at Jenolan Caves. If you have seen Sydney you've seen Melbourne - if you have seen one big city youve seen them all. Canberra is nice - still plenty to see. Personally, fly into Hobart, many travellers forget about Tasmania - its a natural wonderous place.
Tasmania for 1 week and Queensland for another week. Lots of Day walks as that's the way to see Australia.
I still think that Melbourne is very different from Sydney. There is a totally different vibe. Much more chilled, the food is cheaper and some would argue better. You can also explore the Mornington Peninsula and Great Ocean Drive from here. These are better in the warmer months though.
I agree with the comments about Tasmania. You don't go to Tazzie for the weather so going now won't be a disappointment. You could fly to Hobart and do the Tasman Peninsula including Freycinet National Park and the famous Wine Glass Bay. Or, you could fly to Launceston and do a trip to Cradle Mountain. You can just do the Dove lake walk if you don't fancy anything too strenuous. Hobart and Launceston will have trips that you can do if you can't drive to these destinations.
Canberra is good if you like museaums. It has a nice cafe scene too but I'd probably opt for Melbourne.
Hope that helps
