Join in on Travellerspoint's own Tour de France!

The Tour de France kicks off tomorrow. I know there are many fans of Le Tour on Travellerspoint and after an interesting message exchange with Michael (the Utrecht one), we decided we should have our own Travellerspoint Tour!

For 3 gruelling weeks, we will challenge any and all of you to help us write the guide articles for the starting and finishing towns of each stage. Travel along with the cyclists by researching these locations and writing up your findings. If you have actually been there, all the better! It will be a great accompaniment to the beautiful footage that is always shown while the Tour is on.

Rewards for daily stage winners and the overall Yellow Jersey winner still to be decided (ok, they might just be a great big slap on the back and lots of cyber-pokes in your direction - it's for the glory ok!)

Hop on your bicycle and start pedalling! The Tour de France article itself is already taking shape and can be your starting point for finding out which locations will need writing about. Monaco is our first port of call. But if you know about one of the other stages, feel free to jump ahead.

I have been meaning to add some info to the Monaco entry, seeing as I was there a couple of months ago. This is probably a good reason!

Lots of opportunity to contribute this year, not just to the individual cities but also the countries. Six this year! Monaco, France, Spain, Andorra, Switzerland and Italy.

Considering I was the only one writing, I am appointing myself the winner of Stage 1.. muhahaaaaa.. Boy this yellow jersey looks good on me.

Stage 2 starts in Monaco and finishes in Brignoles. I just started an article on Brignoles (really makes me wish I was there ). Plenty of blank spots in both that article and the Monaco article still. You can also write about other upcoming stages or contribute to articles about the region or country the stage is taking place in.

We'll plug this competition in our newsletter tomorrow as well to get a few more people involved.

Ok, in that case I declare Peter the winner of stage 2 as well.
Stage 3 was won by Lavafalls (Mont Ventoux), Stage 4 by Sam I am (Cap d'Agde), Stage 5 by Arif Kool and Stage 6 (although not finished yet) me (utrecht).

So Peter 2 points and 4 others with 1 point.

This is not the WIKI competition, just the fun of random choosing winners.
Sorry I choose to draw the winners by the way, I thought the Tour is just 3 weeks so let's have the fun now

But Mike, i would have liked more people to participate in this but unfortunately only we two are competing and outwitting each other !!!
