Just an idea, but have you guys ever considered a monthly e-zine? I know it would be a much bigger undertaking as it would be a proper publication whereas a blog doesn't need to be so polished, but it would be a very attractive feature. It would be a very suitable medium for publishing articles based on all the "How To" topics mentioned previously, in addition to actual opinion pieces from travellers and traveler profiles etc. Also, it would attract advertising.

You could then post on Twitter with "On This Months E-Zine: etc etc" and net new users from there.
Same with Facebook.

Well, we do have a monthly newsletter. Maybe not the same as an ezine, but it does point to a lot of other areas of the site. To be honest, getting the content organised, laid out and published each month would be a lot of work for our small team :) And we've never been big on chasing advertisers. But hey, if we get some good success with the blog, then you never know. Any urges to submit an article?

Yeah, thought as much. Oh well. Between my photography and writing interests, I want to work for an e-zine eventually, so I had a hidden agenda anyway Peter Seriously though, if you ever end up with a team big enough to manage it, I think it would be a logical progression for TP down the road :)

I'll submit an article, sure. I might dig out one I've written in the past.

Sorry, I just read Dr. Pepper's first post here and it says to submit ideas for articles.

Can I just go ahead and submit an actual article itself?

Hey Ev, you can definitely submit an article. Once approved by whichever editor is on duty, you will be set up as a writer on the blog and can insert the entry on there as a draft. An editor can then polish it off and publish it. So first step is to get approved as a writer. Best way to do that I think is to send in a sample article that you would contribute. Or an idea + examples of other content you have written would also give the editors a good idea.
