None of these dishes sound particularly healthy... More like a recipe for a heart attack. Do the English ever just eat a salad?

Not every Englishman. I hate curry. Millions of us here in GB hate it too.

We have one of the highest risks, along with Scotland and Denmark I believe.

Some people eat it every day - and smoke. I'm glad that I don't anymore.

You hate black pudding and you hate curry - what about Marmite? ;)

Yep - I'm alright with Marmite. Prefer Sainsbury's Vegemite though, it's less salty.
I also really like fresh grilled beef steak with salad and new potatoes (dusted in fresh chopped mint), a few peas and some crusty bread. A nice dollop of home made mustard goes down well with it too. Oh and a glass of real ale - or a single grape Chardonnay.... OK for you??

Yes they do- but it's hardly traditional. And often it does have bits of bacon or something else mixed in anyway

My favourite would be ham, eggs and chips, with a pint, of course. Eggs slightly runny so you can dip the chips in. For breakfast, try crumpets if you don't want a full fry-up- very English!

Do people in China ever eat proper vegetables - or just rice in sweet n sour sauce??

I also agree with Sheperds pie. So easy to make.

Well, we don't eat salad in China, that's true. Most of the veggies are cooked- steamed or fried. But it's not quite the food you get in a 'Chinese' restaurant in North America. I've rarely seen egg rolls or lemon chicken here. And I've never seen fortune cookies!

But I fear we are getting a tad 'off-thread'.
