American Girl Spending 6 Months in San Jose, Costa Rica

I will be spending 6 months in San Jose Costa Rica Studying at the universidad Veritas. I will be there from Sept. to middle to late december. I want to gain friends and knowledge of the citie so that I can do somthing exciting for all the holidays I will miss.

Any suggestions or comments is helpfull.

I want to hear from other travelers about safety concerns and soo on.

Also---I am new to this site and I love it!

Hi Brijette,

You wil enjoy Costa Rica. Your location at San Jose will give you access to several places; by instance: you can do some day trips to places like volcanoes (The Irazu or Poas are close and beautiful)
You can also go on the weekend to the beach -the Guanacaste are is amazing! or go to the north at San Carlos and the volcan Arenal and the hot water springs.

At the city you can go to the museums and certainly there are a lot of places to have fun. The city is safe, but there are some areas that you will want to avoid (I can give you a list of places).
