Can anyone give me some solid advice
Ive just gone bankrupt so decided rather than be depressed to take off for a while and travelling is something ive always fancied. I will depart from London hopefully around mid aug and want to be back for sort of november time what im wanting to know is 3/4 months travelling I want to see US, Oz and Tokyo and a few places in between am I kidding myself with my time frame and also anyone any idea how much this will cost me in terms of flights, hostel and spends? I have been on holiday all over world but only for few weeks at a time.
I sound thick I know but any advice always helps, ALSO if I was lucky enough to land a job out on my travels say in US or oZ would I be able to work because quite honestly im single, bankrupt and think im entering an early mid life crisis so am feeling very daring?

If you are a UK citizen and still young (under 30 IIRC) you can apply for a Working Holiday Visa for Australia. That would be your best bet of finding work legally.

As for flights, read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Round-the-world_ticket and
http://wikitravel.org/en/Round_the_world_flights and see the "Tools" link on the left-hand bar on the site.

USA, Oz and Japan are very expensive places, better plan on spending more time in developing countries (Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, China) than there.

I guess that with the most basic RTW ticket and seeing mostly expensive places you'll spend 6500+ pounds, but I am no expert.

Just out of curiosity, are you allowed to travel if you're bankrupt?

Cos over here bankrupts have their passports impounded and require governmental approval for any travel.

Good question - and who's money is it? Though I can understand the need for a holiday.
