Travel Forums Europe I need HELP!!

I think Im getting myself in over my head but I say what the hell why not?! My room mates are settling down and trying to plan out their futures whereas my future is still unwritten. I came up with the brilliant idea that, since Im still relatively young, why not travel thru Europe? I would prefer to go all over starting in late June to early July, probably start in Spain or England and to end in Italy or Greece. I have a list of stops that are crucial for me on this crazy trip, but the in between is really up in the air for me. The one thing Ive been seriously considering is staying in places and working to pay for room and board. Im sure there is a name for this but I am a novice traveler so I am unaware of what this is properly called. If anyone has advice on to sites to view these kinds of things, please let me know. Im also pondering the possibilities of staying over there but that will be decided once I start my adventure. I appreciate any help or advice in the upcoming months of preparation for my undertaking!!

Some crucial bits of information are missing.

  • how long do you plan to go? Keep in mind that getting a working holiday-type visa (WHV) in Europe is not easy for US citizens. The Netherlands don't have them; don't know about the other countries. Also, bear in mind that in the likely event where you cannot work, you can stay in the Schengen area for 90 days at most
  • where do you like to go? There's a lot of Europe in between the UK/Spain and Italy/Greece
  • would you be interested in studying? Especially if you consider to move to Europe for a longer period, this may be your only option
