I am going to vote for the Krabi beaches. Cheap accommodation available in Krabi town, day trip Railay, Phra Nang, Tub Kaak beaches. All are an easy boat ride away. [ Edit: Edited on 08-Jul-2009, at 16:30 by vegasmike6 ] |

Thailand is very impressive - I've never seen so much gold leaf in my life. The rice terraces in the NW Highlands of Vietnam are breathtaking too. I believe that Cambodia or Laos holds the title of cheapest, but rural Vietnam comes very close. |

The Victoria Harbour ferry, in Hong Kong, at night. Crossing from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island, right under the skyscrapers, for only 4 HK dollars (about 60 cents). In one of the world's most expensive cities, is one of the most beautiful, and inexpensive, sights in Asia. |

Cheapest places in Asia? Now to get idea how cheap countries in Asia are, pls take a look at the recent survey done by Mercer for 2009 and pls click this link http://www.finfacts.ie/costofliving.htm. It comes out that the Philippines generally which is often the most underrated tourist destination in Asia yet hosts to some of the world's most fabulous places of interests such as the Subterrannean River in Palawan, Rice Terraces in Mt. Province (the world's largest), white sandy beaches and amazing dive sites in the tropical islands in the Visayas which also host unspoilt beaches and quaint rural communities, is also one of the cheapest places in the world which ranks out of the top 100. Gigantic malls and best bargains in Asia whther signature brands and designer labels or native handicrafts and foods (fast food or gourmet food) are very very cheap and ur US$100 wud go a long way. How about security? Well, every country has its own security concern and it includes the Philippines. But as always most media ranks Philippines as the scariest place on earth and thus often shunned altogether by first-time travelers. Now take a look the latest survey and click this link to get idea on how safe countries are across the world http://www.mapsofworld.com/world-top-ten/countries-with-highest-reported-crime-rates.html. And ull know how unfair those western media are in portraying the Philippines. So consider the Philippines as one of ur stops n ur itinerary. If u want to avoid the big city of Manila u can fly direct to Cebu City in central Philippines from Hongkong, Singapore, Qatar, Malaysia, Japan and Korea. So a good and smart traveller shud do a lot of research before embarking on a journey. |

Koh Chang is am Amazing and not that expensive. Other than that, I love the whole of Thailand, so pretty much any place there. |
