My friend and I are planning on travelling to Italy first for a week then on to Amsterdam for a few days. We may possibly have the chance to stay in Switzerland for a few days as well. We are curious about the travel conditions during this time of year. What the weather is like and what precautionary measures need to be taken since we will be travelling at the end of the summer.

Italy will be wonderful, just hot enough and not as many tourists as in mid summer. Netherlands may either be acceptable, or miserable with lots and lots of rain. There's no telling, really.

Hi Edge,

I come from Holland so I can definitely can help you out with the weather in Amsterdam.
On the end of September it will be quite good there, not so beautiful as in Italy.
It rains a lot in Amsterdam, so bring an umbrella ;)
I think it will be like 15-19 degrees or something, perfect weather to discover the city.
Do you already make plans to do in Amsterdam?
Because there are lot of things/places which are nice to go to..
Like the Anne-frank house, madame tussauds, go with a sightseeing boat, see the Jordaan (typical amsterdamse neighborhood) Albert Cuijp market, Vondelpark and the many terraces on the squares in Amsterdam.

Have a great time there!
