I have an Argentinian mobile and sim card but my parents are unable to call me from the UK although I can send and receive texts in Argentina. They have tried the +54 or 0054 code and this doesn't help so I'm not sure why it's not working. My spanish isn't amazing so it has been hard to explain this in the shop and not really getting anywhere.
I found the following answer.
Apparently, your parents have to
- dial country code
- substitute the usual cell phone prefix, 15, for 9
- omit the 0 prefix of the Buenos Aires prefix (011)

My number begins with 116 so my parents should call +54 9 116******.
I friend from Corrientes gave me the phone but I think it could be from BA.
I'm also in Chile right now which could pose another problem.
