Hi guys, im planning a trip to SE Asia next year and have been doing alot of research myself. Just want to get a second or even third confirmation on the maximum lenght of visas you can get for each country being a UK citizen.

1. Laos - $30 for 30 days can be extended for a futher 15 days (what if i want to stay for 2 months is it possible to leave the country and come back in)
2. Cambodia - $10 (can i get this at the board or do i have to order before) also can i leave and come back in the country multiple times?
3. Vietnam - 1 Year multiple visa ($115)
4. Thailand - 30 days if you fly in to a airport, (not sure about the price and where to get this one) also after ive used my 30 days i have to leave right? can i just leave the country and come back on a 15day visa and keep doing that for as long as i like?

Lastly does anybody recommend any other asian countries in the area similar to these 4?

Thanks Mike

Mike,
1. Click here for Laos visa. It is now $35 for US & UK citizens, 30 days. You can extend your visa while in Laos.

2. Cambodia charges $20, pay at the airport or land borders. Yes, you can cross as many times as you like. Your visa is cancelled when you leave Cambodia, so you have to fill out the form, submit photo, pay again when you return.

3. You have to obtain your VN visa before you enter the country. They do offer a 'visa on arrival' if you are flying in. I discuss this in my blog, "Off to SaiGon".

4. Thailand offers most western citizens a free, 30 day enter permit when arriving via air. You must leave before it expires. You can get another free, 15 day entry permit when crossing a land border. You may do this 4 times. Then you must buy a visa at a Thai Embassy before entering via land border. Or fly back in, get another free, 30 day entry permit.

Malaysia will issue you a free, 90 day entry stamp on arrival. You may want to see Malaysia while you are in SEA.

Thanks for the info you've been a great help. Am just about to look at your blog now. On the Thailand front once your used your 30 days and all 15 day passes if you want to get a visa from a embassy outside thailand where would be the best place to do this.. any ideas?

Mike
