I am going on holiday to Northern America in mid August.
I was thinking about getting annual travel insurance but am not sure what would be covered if I became ill on holiday. Normally I wouldn't worry too much but with the current Swine Flu epidemic I am a bit worried that I will end up with a policy that doesn't cover the swine flu virus.
Does anyone have any idea if they are starting to mention this in policies or any info on if it comes under normal illness?
Thanks a lot
All you need to is go into a local brokers and ask what their policies cover. Every broker must - by law (in Great Britain), have copies of the smallprint of every policy they sell, whether it's health, motor, home, or indeed.... Travel.
If the broker isn't sure on an update to the policy (e.g. Swine Flu cover), then he/she is just one phone call from finding out. Either the insurance company or their underwriters will have the answer within a few minutes. It's in their interest to sell the right policy to the person wanting to buy one.
I think travel insurance company are covering them
