Few days Car Trip from Poland to SE France

Hi!

I am going to take a few days car trip from Bydgoszcz (Central Poland) to Nice (South East France) via Germany -> Switzerland -> Italy. I'd like to get some advices.

Please suggest places worth to see. These, that are a must and those that you dissuade. I was thinking of spending one day in Milano/Italy. What other places should I see? In Switzerland, South Germany, SE France?

Any advices according to the route? Are the highways and tunnels in these countries charged? What equipment should I have in the car for each?

Is it easy to find campsides one the way? I want to sleep in a tent.

• Places to visit: that really depends on your time frame. Milan is well worth a visit, there's much to see and good food to be had
• Route: unless I am very much mistaken about Polish road conditions, I guess that your quickest itinerary by far would lead through Germany. It would be something like Berlin - Dresden - Nürnberg - München, and then on via either Switzerland (München - Memmingen - route 43 to Bellinzona) or Austria (Innsbruck - Trento - Verona - Milano). As I always pass by far west from München, I don't know which of these is quicker, but my guess would be with the Austrian route
• Fees applies to many of the larger tunnels and some of the passes. Set against the total cost of gas this trip is going to cost you, I'd say the fees are negligible
• Accommodation: finding campsites will be unproblematic. Try to figure out how to break up the journey, and search for some addresses in advance. This will save you the hassle of having to do so after a long day's drive
