I really should see Egypt & Jordan, I had a fantastic time in Jordan, it was safe, clean and extremely friendly and welcoming.Dont spend to long in Aqaba, get out to Wadi rum and then Petra, Dead sea etc..
South America is also just awesome,Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia,Brazil and Argentina.Im sure Chile and Colombia are excellent too but Ive not been there so cant comment..There are some really good and very cheap hostels in Sth America and so many things to see, beaches, jungle, desert,ruins..
China...hmm take a phrase book, and be prepared to be extremely frustrated!...but its worth it in the long run

Yeah I think I'll do Europe in the order I listed and I will post in the European board for more details/ideas.
You're a wealth of knowledge by the way... can I take you with me? Would you fit in a small pack? ;)

Yes, since Jordan and Syria were suggested to me, I've become more and more excited about these destinations and I'm really looking forward to this part. Wadi Rum and Petra are definitely on my list. I was planning on taking a small phrase book for China but I'm also very patient and not bad at Pictionary and Charades so this will help!

As for South America, I've resinged to the fact my initial plan was probably a bit too ambitious to do Asia, Europe and South America all in one trip. I'm sure I'll have enough stamina for an 18 month trip around Asia and Europe but by that stage I might be a bit jaded.

Besides, SA is so big and there are so many countries to visit that it would definitely warrant its own trip.

Just in case you plan to travel around the Balkan region:

You're a wealth of knowledge by the way... can I take you with me? Would you fit in a small pack?

I am a very big girl. No way I would fit into your pack.

FYI, I have been obsessed with travel information since I was 10 or so. I also remember information I read extremely well, which is useful if you hang out at several travel forums and read a lot of posts of other travellers. Plus I live in Europe, have travelled extensively all over the continent and the Middle East, so I do know these areas. I am almost clueless when it comes to other parts of the world, especially South America.
