I've recently joined the TP group on facebook -are there any more plans for the development of the group? Do any TPers out there visit it regularly?

Huh? don't get it sorry.

Anyway, I have an allergy for facebook-ish websites unfortunately. I like the TP aspect though

I think it means exactly what it says - Sapphyre isn't a member of facebook. But, now I see how it could be read differently, like there should be more to the sentence. I'm stickin' with the "not a member" concept.

I'm a member but haven't logged in for ages. Almost everyone I know there is already on TP. There are only 3-4 facebook friends that aren't TP members and 2 of those never log on either. I guess you could say I'm just not the "social networking" type. (I stick to e-mails and phone calls rather than writing on walls. I got in trouble for that when I was 5 and learned not to write on them again.)

I'm not a fan of facebook either - I find it pretty inane and probably wouldn't have joined it had I not been away from home. I just wondered if anyone visited the TP page specifically, as there had been a flurry of posts a couple of years ago and not a lot since.

I haven't been on Facebook in about a month. They blocked our access at work, and I don't really have any interest to sit and stare at the site at home. A few friends and acquaintances will write notes on Facebook now and then (and it takes me eons to get to them), but other than that I'm sticking to email. And TP, of course!

Me neither. Some of my friends are on it all the time and seem to update their statuses multiple times a day- I can't understand it.

I'm one of those annoying people but its normally because I don't always have time to write long emails and if I ring everyone it costs a fortune, since I moved from Ireland its been a way to keep in contact without boring people with huge mails, I also hate the mass mail diary idea so a quick one liner is an easier summary. If people are interested in something they will leave a comment or question. Unfortunately I can't just rely on TP as some of my friends and family are not interested in travelling and do have an addiction to social sites, one sister in particular being booked up to about six of them (well last time I checked but it could be more now)

I agree it's a good way to keep in touch, and being away from home it has made me feel less isolated as many of my friends only seem to communicate via facebook now, rather than email. It's a really good way to let everyone know what you're up to - it's more people's inane updates that seem a bit pointless, ie ....is just having a coffee or ....is having a snooze, which are the types of things I read quite a lot on my news feed.

hehe could be worse, one of my friends insists on telling everyone when he's used the wc and for what purpose, he "says" he's being ironic
