....not even on facebook....

Huh? don't get it sorry.

Anyway, I have an allergy for facebook-ish websites unfortunately. I like the TP aspect though

I think it means exactly what it says - Sapphyre isn't a member of facebook. But, now I see how it could be read differently, like there should be more to the sentence. I'm stickin' with the "not a member" concept.

Wow, didn't expect a stupid post of mine to generate responses

Yep I'm not on FB though most of my friends are and I'm constantly told that if I'm not on FB I don't exist. But who cares....don't need another thing to make me spend more time online than I already do! Not on Friendster or Twitter or anything else too.

I'm just a (closet) social hermit

Sapphyre - you are not alone!! And, just so you know - you do exist.

Also realize Michael is Dutch which explains his lack of understanding.

ps: Just kidding, Michael!! ;)

The only website you're on that really matters is TP.

It basically means I'm alive and you haven't been replying to some ghost posts

Thanks Isa, I had to pinch myself to make sure

In answer to the original question, no, there aren't any current great plans for the Facebook group. Actually, it probably would make more sense to create a Travellerspoint "Page" that people can be a "fan" of. Those seem to be fairly popular for websites with a presence on Facebook.

I think we've just been too occupied with other stuff and I know I don't spend that much time on FB these days. I'm not sure how much time Sam spends on there, but I don't think a lot either. Out of sight, out of mind really ;)

Facebook. I didn't like it from day one... and then when it became a verb (I'll facebook you later) I hated almost as much as I hate those people who shout "GET IN THE HOLE!" at televised golf.

Once in a moment of beer soaked dementia I put my profile up there, and now I feel like I should go to church and confess my sin. Oh shame, woe is me.

But I've learned from the experience, gotten stronger, more resillient. Now I can stand up in a crowd - or even among real live friends you can touch, or even punch if you wanted - and shout out loud "MY NAME IS BRENDAN AND I DON'T FACEBOOK ANYMORE"

It's difficult but one day at a time will get you there too.

Phew!!! I didn't use facebook often enough to become an addict so no withdrawl symptoms at all. I have enough problems with my other addictions as it is - didn't need one more.

On a side note - I did receive some great birthday wishes via facebook but, when I finally overcame my reluctance to log in, try writing on someone's wall to thank them. Ha! It was messy enough already and now it's worse. So, for those who are also TP members (which all are)... I thank you here!!!!!

I'd like to join this group of like minded TP'ers ... a link?
