I was just wondering if anyone here is going to Thailand in January??
Im leaving with my friends on new years eve..and we r heading to the south, islands..probly to Ko Phi Phi and Ko Tao..Ive never been to Phi Phi, so it would be nice to hear your comments about the place..good an cheap places to stay etc...And then we r planning to go to Malaysia,at least to Kuala Lumpur, this is the first time in Kuala Lumpur too, so i'd be glad to hear your opinions about that too ..Any suggestions which one is better way to get there train or bus??And what do u think, does the situation in southern Thailand have any effect on us, travellers??
I believe thats all for this time..
Phi Phi is really nice. I've been there 4 times. And everytime it's not the same..always change..
Cheap accom available in phi phi but it comes with no sea view. So if you pay a little bit more, you would get a nice view such as bay view resort or tonsai beach village.
I've never been to Koh Tao so No comment.
Going to KL, I suggest that you catch a flight from Phuket to KL. This is to avoid crossing the border of the 3 provinces in souther of thailand.
Situation is not too bad but not so good either. So you'd better avoid that. Airasia is quite cheap. You can check for promotion occasionally at www.airasia.com
Yes! my friend and i are going on the 28th december and we seriously cant wait...no more temping or rainy britain for 3 months! Where are you going to be for new year? we will be in bangkok for a few days and then we are planning to go down to the islands on the South west coast i think...since we want to be in the south-east for the famous full moon party at the end of january...
anyway, hope you have a wicked time...and you never know we may bump into you!
We are probly going to spend the new years eve in Bangkok and then going via Krabi and Phi Phi to KL,Malaysia and then finally to my favourite island Koh Tao!!!!Im not sure, though that are we going to Malaysia..if we r not going there, i think we will be in Koh tao on 10th of january onwards..so, if ur going to Ko pha-Ngan for full moon, come before that to Tao, to say hi!!!
oh, and CHORPET, thanks for your answer..im really waiting to see Phi Phi..Have u been rockclimbing there???
Or anyone else??
Rock climbing must be done in Railey Beach not in the Phi Phi. You can catch a long tail boat from Ao Nang to Railey beach. Nearby island also nice for snorkeling/diving such as Poda , Kai Island.
From Phi Phi island, you can take a ferry to Ao Nang. It takes approximately 1.45 hrs. Fare is around Baht 250/person. There are 2 ferry..morning around 8 or 8.30..i'm not sure and again in the afternoon 13.00 or so.
If you need more help, please do let me know.
