Will be flying from OZ to Bangkok on March 23rd - Leave on April 9th. What kind of weather should I expect? In the 15 days that I am there --- what should I not miss out on? I want to get the most out of thailand in the time that I am there. Any suggestions on how to get around would be appreciated. THANKS!!!!

Hi..

The weather during that time normally extreamly hot during the day and fine in the evening. So light cloth is recommended.

A must go is The Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha Temple which are in the same compound. This trip can be done any day during your stay in Bangkok.

Since Thailand is a diversity country...it's better that you tell me what's your interested.

Go north during that time is not the right time and it would be really nice to see the morning fog until late January only. So...better go south to enjoy the beaching.

I don't have lunar calendar with me now so not sure whether the period of your stay cover full moon night or not. May be you could join full moon party in Koh Pha Ngan. Nearby Islands such as Koh Tao , Nang Yuang and samui also nice and it's not high season there. So price would be cheaper..i guess.

Or you may go to west coast to one of the best diving spot in Thailand. eg..surin or similan island. You can find accommodation at Khao Lak beach and make a day trip to surin/similan. Day trip cost around Baht 1,500 - 2,000/person. You can stay in Phuket either but the boat trip to surin and similan would be further and more expensive.

So if you do not fancy for diving at both islands mentioned..Phuket could be your choice. Enjoy romantic dining cruise along Phrom Thep Cape, rent a long tail boat to snorkel at nearby islands etc.

Krabi, Phi Phi island , Railey ( Famouse for hiking ) is also nice.

May be..you can arrange the trip like this.

First 2 - 3 days..stay in bangkok and take day trip to grand palace & emerald buddha temple, have an excurision trip to Pattaya & coral island , visit floating market/river kwai bridge ( memorial brige of world war II ). This would be enough.

Head to south by bus.

Spend a week at a Khao Lak and make day trip to Surin

Head to Krabi

Hire a long tail boat to Railey beach. Overnight few nights here. Enjoy hiking and snorking here and day trip to nearby island such as koh kai , koh poda etc. and spend a night in phi phi island. hire long tail boat to visit maya beach ( Same location of the movie ' THE BEACH ' and transfer to Phuket.

You may over nigth in Phuket and have a sight seeing tour the next day before catch an evening bus back to bangkok.

hmmm...would these be of help?
