Hi, my name is Christian and I just bought a resort in Fiji.

The name of the place is Waisalima Beach Resort & Dive Centre and it's situated on Kadavu Island.

If you're interested in ever coming to visit check out -snip-

Anyway, I love to travel and just thought I'd come online to say hello.

Regards,

Christian

Moderator comment: Welcome to TP Christian. Your post in General Talk has been deleted as it is a duplicate post, which is not allowed. Promotional posts are also not allowed, so I have snipped that out as well. Please see the Forum Rules to know what is acceptable to post. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. As an aside, I'd love to visit Fiji one day.......if so, I will check with you for rates and accomodations.

note to moderator/admin:

Promotional post is still here, although no (direct) link. The name is still there. Is this ok?

Michael, PM'ing Beerman is more effective, me thinks.

But I notice a tendency for some of the old-timers to become too harsh and strict even in my book. This post in its current state would be fine with me, especially since there is a chance that we have a genuine new member here with good knowledge of Fiji, which imo is something we should cherish. Only time will tell; if he was all about promoting this resort in the first place, the promotional value of the post has been seriously reduced by taking out the link, and remainder will soon sink into oblivion.

Thanks for the tip Niels.

I tend to agree with you about being maybe a little too harsh. For me, this has got to with the fact that sometimes nothing is done with reactions (see other question of me in system talk forum just some minutes ago).

I don't agree we have a member here with knowledge about Fiji.
There was an introduction forum post, and that's it: no blog, no trips, no photos, no travelguide, no nothing. This is what happens 90% of the times, including those only here for posting questions and being of no use whatsoever. Of course it's ok to ask question, but even a thank you has become difficult for a lot of them.
But again, maybe I just should let it go and give up the harshness..;)

Following up after having asked a question has not "become" difficult. It's been the way of the vast majority of posters since the very first days of the forum. And that's totally okay. Yes, it's nice when people do take the time to say thank you, but as far as I'm concerned that happens frequently enough that I'm totally not bothered about those who don't.

As for the original post here: a moderator (or admin) edited it. I'd say you should put some trust that they knew what they were doing, and purposefully left it exactly in the state it was. Really no need to second guess that.

Gentlemen

Sorry I didn't reply about this earlier, I thought it was self-explanatory. The poster had several posts that were not promotional, but those seem to be gone now. This one, minus the link, didn't seem so bad to me.

If Christian is indeed a spammer, I will keep my eye on things and take appropriate action when necessary. I try to give most people the benefit of the doubt.

Michael, let it go. Culture as it is currently seems to preclude courtesy....but then, that's been going on for many years now. Have patience Grasshopper.......

This place has been For Sale for a while now-apparently the former owner is not an easy person to do business with-she was sited in many reviews on the net as being the reason people didn't enjoy themselves quite as much as they could have.

Let's hope everything falls into place for the new management, Kadavu Island & environs is dream like place-classic South Seas scenery, wonderful friendly people and the second largest fringing reef on the planet @ your doorstep.
