So, we were travelling in Vietnam from Ha Tien to Can Tho in the Mekong Delta just the other day. When the bus stopped and picked up several women who at first looked like they were seriously obese. We initially began to worry about the effects of Agent Orange in this area!! When we realised that they seemed to be wearing some kind of fatsuit! And thought perhaps there was several Heomphilliacs in the area wearing protection against cuts and bruises. several hours later one woman began stripping away her dress to reveal that she in fact was covered in packets of ciggerettes!!! Elastic banned together and wrapped around her body from her chest to her waist and from her thighs to her feet!!!! She then began to strip them off and seperate them into several bags. She was actually quite skinny beneath!
Does anyone know what the hell was going on!!??!! Ciggerette smuggling? I didn't dare ask

"According to the Vietnam Association of Tobacco, 11 billion cigarettes, mostly Jet and Hero brands, were smuggled in last year, making up 15 percent of the cigarettes sold in the market." *
I believe most of these are Chinese products, and Cambodia is the easiest border to transit due to the size of the Mekong River.
One can be sure that an obese Vietnamese is a very very rare individual!

It is the same thing here in Europe. Lots of Asian women who looked extremely pregnant used to cross the border between Germany and Poland before Poland joined the EU in 2004. They smuggled Chinese clothes and sold them on the streets in Germany. Now it is Polish women looking pregnant and they carry cigarettes.

Thanks for that guys! That confirms my suspicions! They were Hero Cigarettes by the way. And Ha Tien is the most southern border town to Cambodia.
