Fedrik has indicated that this thread is about Australia

Hello, I need to consult with you guys…
I want to migrate to Australia, I heard the process of getting a visa is pretty complicated, is that true?
Where can I get some help with going through it?

Thanks for any kind of help!

That's quite a vague question, as there's quite a few ways to migrate. Some of the visa routes are not being processed (current applications on hold) by DIAC due to the financial situation, and won't be picked up until July 2010 at the earliest (the next financial year in Australia).

Have you looked at the DIAC website to see how you might be able to apply?

Hello Fedrick,

There are a number of options available for Visas to Australia depending on what your intentions are. One of the easiest is the working holiday visa. You have to be under 31 and of a particular nationality to be eligible but assuming that is met you are granted a 12 month visa that allows you to work and travel throughout Australia. If you complete 3 months of specific work experience within a regional area (post code defined) then you are able to obtain a 2nd working holiday visa again of 12 months.

If you are over that age (or not one of the specific nationalities), then you probably need to look at the skilled migration scheme. This is a far more complex and lengthy process and looks at a variety of person-specific factors; such as, age, English language ability, your level of work experience and the field in which your work experience has been gained. The Department may also take into account additional factors such as if you have ever lived and worked in Australia or if you have any family members there. As such, it is not possible for me to give you an indication of your possible options without knowing a few more details about you!

In any case, I hope this has helped! If you do have any other questions, please feel free to let me know

Kind regards

Veronika

Sorry guys, Fedrik was just a spammer. The latest response (now deleted) was made by him as well just under a different username. But thanks for the answers - they will still be useful to people with genuine questions.
