Hello everyone.

I was talking to aguy in a forum (that I can't remember the name of) that had worked in a really cool and unusual hotel. Apparently it is owned by a local eccentric who has made each aprt of the hotel districtly different i.e. One part has an america indian theme, another one classic americana etc. The one part that really stood out was that it has a glass extension that tapers off to the end and leans over a forest. Apparently it has a glass floor etc and you can sleep in it - imagine getting up after a nights sleep and looking down! Apparently it sways slightly as well. I did have it saved as a favourite but my hard drive got fried :(

I'm hoping to drive across the USA next year and really want to stay there!

Thanks for the suggestion but that's not it. The Madonna Inn looks another place i'd like to see though!!

It's become a bit of a mission to find this place with the glass extension though. I remember looking at the website and being blown away by it. Apparently it's all glass and gets smaller an smaller towards the end. It stretches out over a forest and IIRC, it's quite breathtaking! I've been up all night looking online for it - time for some sleep now!!

Tough search with just the criteria given, can you remember which state or which part of America it was in?.
Could it be the Bioshere 2 Hotel.http://www.flatrock.org.nz/topics/environment/assets/biosphere_2_at_night.jpg

Here in the Pacific NW we have several rather unusual lodgings including yurts, treehouse hotels, fire lookout lodgings, houseboats, tug boat hotels, lighthouse hotels, teepees, etc.:

I just found this rather interesting site that might help:
