Hej I am an expat living in Shanghai. We are thinking of going to the Philippines for 2 weeks during Chinese New Year (end of January). Would love to go to Boracay and Bohol for each one week. Is it possible to combine these two? Also, is it cheaper to book packages or book on your own?

I am not certain about travel between these 2 places, but they are both in the Visayas so I think they are ok to do in 2 weeks. If thre are not direct flights between them you can always go from Borocay overland (and sea) to Iloilo on Panay where there is a big airport. Or perhaps continue on from Iloilo to Bacolod where you can fly to Cebu and from there onto Bohol. Travel around the Philippines does take a bit of research and planning but I am sure you can do it in 2 weeks. You can of course always go to Manila from Boracay and then fly down to Bohol from there.

Chinese Newyear next year takes place on Feb. 14th.

Why don't you check out some places at Panglao Island, Bohol. It's a lot calmer then Borocay, and you can snorkel and dive as well here, plus you can go whale watching.

You can fly directly to Tagbilaran, and if you still have some spare time, you can explore Cebu or Negros!

yeah i also think you can make it in 2 weeks. i also think there is no direct flight between Boracay and Bohol but you may take an airplane trip from Caticlan airport which is nearest to Boracay and fly to Cebu. And from Cebu you can just take a fast ferry to Tagbilaran on Bohol which is just about an hour on sea. It should be quicker than flying back to Manila.

I'd think booking packages is cheaper specially if you're a big group plus some packages include sending you to destinations with transportation included and transfers also.
