m1ket,
I saw your blog and pictures. I will certainly include Batu caves now. :)

Sovern,
That's a big tip not to get off at butterworth ! Have noted.
Thanks.

And we are planning to take a night train back from Penang to KL. So bus, train, airplane.... all modes are to be experienced. :)

Actually the best way to get to Kl from Penang is by bus.

Use the NICE bus company. Nearly one every hour, takes 4.5 hours to get in good airconditioned bus. Even offers refreshments. Not one of those old coaches but a new one where there are only 3 seats across and 10 rows deep so lots of room and very comfortable.

Oh, I'll have a look.

A few more queries. :)

1. In KL it is not very clear whether they have day-pass for their LRT (metro). Any idea ?

2. What's the best way to see Malacca ? A day trip or on our own ? We'll have 1D and 1N.

Our intention is to travel in local transport and know local people as far as possible.

New fare structure for public transportation has taken effect. For more information, refer to this link http://www.rapidkl.com.my/news/1-latest-news/134-newfares.

It depends on what you would like to see in Malacca.

Unfortunately, they don't have day-pass on the LRT service.

Spend 1 night in Malacca should be great... From KL, take a bus down to Malacca. You can rent a bicycle or just walk around the city. If you are a little lazy, just take a trishaw which will cost about RM40 an hour + musics (you'll know when you see)

Dont miss the Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum on Tun Tan Cheng Lock Road. There are several cheap guesthouses along that road as well like Heeren Guesthouse which only costs around RM75 per night.

opospa;)

Swept Away,
Yes, that's in my list too.

Hien,
Yeah, found that out. :(

Opospa,
Yeah, taking a bus to Malacca. Thanks for the smallest help/info given by you.
I see you are from Thailand. My next visit should be that country, so be prepared to answer my 100s of queries. :)

All,
Thanks for all the info. I value them. So pls keep them coming. Will blog about my experiences in detail once I am back.
