Please don't do that!

Backpacks are like shoes, you cannot just buy one in a store and expect it to fit your girlfriend! Each back is unique, one needs to find a pack that fits perfectly. You have to carry it around the store for 20+ minutes with 15-20 kgs of weight, only then can you know if it is ok.

Give her the clothes in a cheap duffel bag and along with the flight tickets give her a self-made voucher for going to the store and selecting a backpack for her.

What a wonderful present! And, I must say, very brave of you to buy a womans holiday wardrobe!
As for the backpack, like t-maia says, backpacks can vary enormously, however for just three weeks and if she is not going to have to lug it around for too long, a basic adjustable womens fit one would suffice. If it is a life long pack you are looking for, then yes, it is best to get it fitted properly. If you plan to buy a decent one and assuming you have time between the party and the trip, go for the Osprey ( I have read good reviews) but ensure you have the option to change it if necessary.

Good luck and have a great party and a fabulous trip with your girlfriend..she is one lucky lady!;)

You don't know women very well do you. Give her the tickets and cash to buy her own stuff.

u clearly have only ever had a half hearted gift, also we will be leaving the day after her bday so that dusnt leave much time now does it,also i dont think £600 of tiso vouchers is very original

Just seemed a bit controlling - specially the buying clothes bit.

Sorry if I got that wrong.

trust me id rather not buy them but i cant think of any other way without her finding out and on such short notice her bday is on the sat we leave on the monday, if u can think of ANYWAY i can get her 2 pick the stuff without her asking questions im allllll for it.

dude u r so romantic but i agree with t-maia on this one .because any kind of luggage is a self-esteem thing for women. for example we ( guys) use to think on size or fabric of the bag but they use to think about color or design etc. so let her decide what to take and what to put in that.

Now you are talking sense! That is the best idea you've had so far.

Go backpack and clothes shopping together and share the excitement about the upcoming trip.
